Lakshmi’s Gifts
Seeds
Last summer, I was inspired to begin saying a mantra to Lakshmi, not really knowing what would happen. Lakshmi is an ubiquitous, Hindu household goddess whose presence in a home calls

forth prosperity and beauty. We can also think of her as an archetype, a powerful energy and pattern of experience that lives within each of us. Any goddess is a vibrational dynamic of the collective consciousness that is an expression of certain attributes and possibilities that are accessible to each of us. We don’t have to be Hindu to invoke the archetype of Lakshmi.
Lakshmi seemed then to be essential to the Path of the Everyday Priestess year in the Temple, but I didn’t know how… I never do know what will appear. I simply listen and follow “orders from headquarters.”
In September, it happened that it arose in the Temple Women to invoke Lakshmi—no coaching from me. Maybe Lakshmi invoked us, who knows? We asked for initiation into Her particular realms which we knew to be of Abundance and Beauty. In November, we created a beautiful altar to this Goddess at Sophia Center. The photo in the upper left is our exquisite Lakshmi. She is so lush and lovely, imbued with Shakti (divine feminine presence), abundant in all respects. Her bowl is an invitation to ask, to receive, to open, to see what is already here… now…. and to have our hearts filled with gratitude for all that is.
We have been receiving Lakshmi’s endless flow of consciousness and blessings at all levels. You can invoke Her on your own and see what happens, and you are also invited to step into this initiatory Vessel with us, if you feel called. We are discovering that Her particular teachings and blessings have to do with Abundance at all levels, Beauty, Truth, Love, and Self-Love.
