10,000 Moments to Use Samyama
Well, there are not really 10,000 listed here, but certainly in a given day or week there are many, many possible Samyama moments if we choose to bring the practice into our daily lives.
We can do Samyama when we:
• feel really good – it’s great to abide in The Heart consciously when things are going well and we feel loving, happy, spacious
• feel our longing
• have old or new wounds and traumas activated, feeling old losses
• feel really awful, lost, sad, grieving, angry, rageful, stoney, mean, blah, victimized, attacked, abused, nothing, deadened, numb, empty, in the void
• want to deepen spiritually, meditate, be in Silence, open our heart to The Heart, be with the Beloved/the Ma

• need help or HELP!
• are full of doubt, despair, desolation, depression, hopelessness
• feel like we want to die or are in a dying process
• feel the tension of opposites: like wanting and not wanting at the same time, loving and hating at the same time, wanting to get close and run away in the same moment
• feel the pangs of birth, emergence, new life and possibilities, a beginning
• work with our dreams and visions
• hate or want to hurt ourselves, abuse a substance, indulge an addiction, spend money we don’t have, eat a dozen cupcakes, or call an old lover
• feel dissociated, frightened, terrified, anxious, like running away
• work or live with really people who reflect our shadow back to us, people we find irritating or obnoxious
• have physical pain: anything from a stubbed toe to major surgery, chronic pain, a back injury
• want to be more embodied, we can do Samyama when we work out, do yoga, get bodywork, dance, take a bath, make love
• are having any kind of procedure: medical, dental, chiropractic, acupuncture, massage, rolfing, bodywork of any kind
• are getting a speeding ticket, having a challenging conversation or confrontation, sitting in traffic and we are already late, going on a first date, going on a last date, breaking up, breaking down, or end up with the haircut from hell
• take a walk or hike in nature, hanging out on the patio, walking the dog
• begin an art project, and while we are making art
• everything has turned to crap and you have no idea what to do, where to go, whom to call
